Can The Tattooing Process Help Improvise The Global Healthcare Market?
Speaking of modernization, there is room for a combination of biotechnology and tattooing process. Looking at the craze among the public, especially the youngsters, to get themselves inked has bolstered the tattoo industry.
What about using biosensing ink for tattooing? Could it be of any help for the healthcare market? It will be amazing if the biosensing ink could help us get information regarding the health by just around the tattooed skin. The Global healthcare market will have an extra star added to their shoulders after the tattooing ink flourishes in the market. It could be of great relief to the people wanting to know their health conditions without much of the tests being performed.
The project named DermalAbyss is a collaborated project between Harvard Medical School students named Nan Jian and Ali Yetsin as well as MIT students Nick Barry, Katia Vega, Viirj Kan, and Xin Liu. These researchers have basically tried turning the human skin into an interactive display. The biosensing ink used in the tattoos will help analyze the sodium ions, pH, and glucose levels in the intestinal fluid and a change can be seen if there is any fluctuation in these levels.
According to the researchers, the change in the pH can be seen due to a shift from purple to pink, for glucose the shift is from blue to brown, and similarly, in case of sodium it changes under high UV light intensity. The idea of blending the tattoo, technology along with healthcare and fashion is nothing new but just a different mode of experimentation. This kind of technology is being used to help the public get a brief idea of what technology can do for them.
Using the tattoo to measure the health conditions is an innovation that is beneficial for the public as well as the global market, but its only drawback is that it can turn out to be expensive once it commercializes. This technology could be of great help for the people suffering from diabetes that can just look at their arms to know the glucose level rather than using expensive kits or undergoing blood tests.
It isn’t sofar that the biosensing ink would be used for health monitoring. The global healthcare market will flourish to a great extent once the product reaches the public.
