BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie State University football team will kick-off the 2017 season on Saturday (September 2) as the Bulldogs travel to Seton Hill University (Greensburg, Pa.) in a non-conference battle. Saturday's contest marks the first game of the season for both teams. Kick-off is slated for 3:00pm Offutt Field.
Saturday marks the third overall meeting between the Bulldogs and Griffins on the gridiron. Seton Hill, a member of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (Western Division), claimed victory in the teams’ first meeting (August 28, 2010), topping Bowie State by a score of 20-14 on the Griffins home turf. Seton Hill won the shootout last season at Bowie State (September 3) edging the Bulldogs 50-48.
Bowie State posted a 7-4 overall record last season, a 6-1 mark in the CIAA Northern Division and advanced to the conference championship game as the division winner for the second consecutive season.
Seton Hill posted a 5-6 overall record last season and 2-5 mark in the PSAC (West). The Griffins are under the direction of 5th year Head Coach Isaac Collins.
